Folstyle season has officially wrapped up. We are now into the freestyle season. See below this general summary for details and registrations links for 2024 freestyle options.

IF you are NEW to the Rhinos or wrestling, know that we have three primary seasons, chronologically:

1. Bootcamp - For high school wrestlers (experienced middle school wrestlers welcome), short-term session in the fall to help wrestlers prepare for their high school season. Typically in October-ish. Just a few weeks of practice, no tournaments.
2. Youth Folkstyle - This is the primary season for young wrestlers. This is usually the time/place where kids are introduced to wrestling and where they progress until they join high school teams. We often have multiple practice options based on age, experience, and desired intensity during this time frame -- roughly mid-October through the State Championship Tournament in mid-February.
3. Freestyle - Mostly geared toward high school and middle school athletes who want to continue developing their skills in the March through May time frame; often extending to early-summer tournaments, and some youth wrestling available (sometimes with beginner options, too).

Regardless of the season, ALL athletes must have a current USAW Membership to participate. If this is your first membership, start here. The $20 "limited folkstyle" version is sufficient for practices and regular folkstyle tournaments. The $55 "full athlete" version is required for the Folkstyle State Championship and freestyle tournaments. You can upgrade memberships at any time.

FREESTLYE SEASON

It's time for freestyle! And the Rhinos have a few practice options this season.

Renton Middle School/High School

Practices will be:

• Starting Tuesday, March 5th, through the the end of July 
• At Ruffhouse Jiu Jitsu Studio, 405 S 3rd St, Renton, WA 98057
• Tuesday and Thursdays 2:45 pm - 4:30 pm
• $150 for the session; $155 under a two-part payment plan; partial and full scholarships available, donations appreciated! To request a scholarship or payment plan, please email rhinoswrestling@gmail.com.

Edmonds/Shoreline Middle School/High School

Practices will be:

• Starting Thursday, March 5th
• Youth Wrestlers:
  • Tuesday/Thursday 6:00 -7:00 pm in the Edmonds-Woodway High School mat room
  • Through the state tournament May 4th
  • $120 for the session
• Middle School & High School Wrestlers:
  • Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursdays 7:00-8:30 pm in the Edmonds-Woodway High School mat room
  • Mondays 5:30-7:30 at Shorewood High School
  • Through May 23rd
  • $200 for the season
• Payment plans are available--please email rhinoswrestling@gmail.com to receive a code.  The club will invoice you half plus a $5 service fee in the next few days and the remaining balance during the first week in April.
